Since 2014, the mission of National Safety Week has been to advocate for improved safety processes, mental health resources, and equipment standards that reduce the risk of injury and create a safer environment for workers.

It’s a perfect time to recognize our CAWV safety award recipients.

With over 500 members, the Contractor’s Association of West Virginia is a full-service trade association representing West Virginia’s building, highway and utility construction industries. The association recognized two Tri-State Roofing & Sheet Metal Company divisions for safety excellence in the workplace in 2024. The awards were presented at the recent CAWV State Meeting held in conjunction with the Construction & Design EXPO at the Charleston Civic Center.

The “CAWV 2024 Safety Achievement Award – Industrial Division” was awarded to Tri-State of Parkersburg, W. Va. The “CAWV 2022 Safety Achievement Award – Building Division” went to Tri-State of Charleston, W. Va.

CAWV scores contractors participating in the program on their documented safety policies and procedures, commitment and approach to safety and health, and recorded statistical data for the year. Special attention is given to the quality of safety training provided to employees and members who demand active employee involvement in their safety process.

Tri-State works continuously to improve safety performance–evaluating and refining processes daily–with a zero injury and illness goal through their comprehensive safety program, “Working. Safe.”
