September is National Preparedness Month.

FEMANPM2016_logo_regional_vFinal-edit-450September is recognized as National Preparedness Month (NPM).

Sponsored by FEMA, National Preparedness Month aims to educate and remind us that we all must take action to prepare, now and throughout the year, for the types of emergencies–including natural disasters–that could affect us where we live and work.

According to the National Weather Service, as the days get shorter and temperatures fall, a new round of weather hazards are on the rise: hurricanes, wildfires, intense winds, flooding, droughts, early season snow, and more.

Stay safe this fall. Check the weather forecast daily at weather.gov and get practical tips on preparing for disaster at ready.gov .
