U.S. Department of Labor Kicks Off Safe + Sound Week on August 12

Our group works continuously to improve safety performance–evaluating and refining our processes daily–with a zero injury and illness goal through our safety program, “Working. Safe.”

In 2016, OSHA, along with NIOSH and a number of safety organizations teamed up to create Safe + Sound Week.  This event is a nationwide effort to recognize the successes and importance of workplace safety and health programs. In its third year, Safe + Sound Week is set for Aug. 12-18, 2019.

At Tri-State/Service Group, our workplace safety program begins with management’s commitment to worker safety as our number one priority.

This commitment to safety is reinforced through actions — proper hiring, training, planning, mentorship, auditing, enforcement, communication, as well as policies — our program, manual, meetings, and incentives.

Our Working. Safe. program has delivered results.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, safety and health programs help businesses to do all these things.  But the first on this list is the most important to us.

  • Prevent workplace injuries and illnesses
  • Improve compliance with laws and regulations
  • Reduce costs, including significant reductions in workers’ compensation premiums
  • Engage workers
  • Enhance social responsibility goals
  • Increase productivity and enhance overall business operations
