Anything out of metal – Yes, we can make that: manufacturing process ductwork
Our group worked with a glass manufacturing company to fabricate and install a new ductwork system for its relocated process line.
Glass manufacturing generates temperatures up to 2910 °F. This system supplies quench and cooling air flow from two large blowers through 16 ga. galvanized steel lines to the process equipment. The system includes two ductwork runs (42-in. and 30-in. diameters) of 120 linear feet each with bolted flange connections.
Our group designed the construction per SMACNA standards for the airflow being supplied by the blowers. We work with area manufacturers to custom-fabricate and install metal products that improve processes, safety, material handling, and access. What can we help you build?
103 Years Strong – Thanks for another year of great partnerships.
When choosing a roofing and sheet metal contractor the value of experience cannot be understated.
Our company is proud to celebrate 103 years in 2026. Experience guides operations and has helped to build a strong and capable organization. From recruiting and hiring the very best craftsmen to award-winning safety measures and our comprehensive working knowledge of roofing systems, we use that experience to benefit our customers every day.
In 2025, we heard some great things about our people and the work they do, highlighting the importance we place on hiring the best person for each position in our company. Here are just a few of our customer comments.
“Most professional roofing company I’ve ever worked with. Exceptional communication during the process, detailed explanation of repair and billing.”
“Company is outstanding!”
“The Tri-State guys did a FANTASTIC job repairing the roof under our Catholic Radio satellite dish and getting it back into reception position. Could not even tell they had moved the dish. EWTN now back on roof dish. Thank God.”
“Very professional team.”
“Thanks for working with us on this Tim. You and your team pulled off one of our largest and most challenging projects. You and your team have done an amazing job. Your work has transformed this building from one of questions and future concerns to a showcase that Concord will be proud of for years to come. We can’t thank you and your team enough!!!”
“The work that you provide us is something that can be characterized as a true partnership.”
“We’re partners, not just another account.”
“Absolutely the best!”
Will we have a white Christmas?

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has asked the same question.
Gathering data from its National Climatic Data Center from 1991 to 2010, NOAA created a graphic that shows the historic probability of a white Christmas defined as greater than one inch of snow on the ground on Christmas morning.
For this year, the Old Farmer’s Almanac has its own prediction. According to the latest almanac most of the United States will be seeing a milder, gentler winter than average with odds that snow will fall mainly in the central region of the country.
Regardless of the frosty precipitation expected in your area, the Tri-State/Service Roofing & Sheet Metal Group sends our warmest greetings to you and yours this holiday season!
Falling Back
Daylight saving time is the period between March and November when we adjust our clocks ahead one hour. It begins on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November: November 2 at 2:00 A.M this year when we set the clocks back one hour.
As a result, we gain more daylight in our winter mornings and it becomes darker earlier each evening until the resumption of daylight saving time next March.
Hawaii and most of Arizona – with the exception of the Navajo Nation which stretches across Arizona, New Mexico and Utah – are the only two states that do not participate in daylight saving time.
In January 2025, the Sunshine Protection Act was re-introduced in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate. The act would make daylight saving time permanent across the U.S. This legislation has not yet been brought to a vote.
Some health experts argue that daylight saving time disrupts the body’s natural rhythms and advocate for a return to Standard Time. According to the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine research, the shift in time has been associated with increased heart attacks, strokes, abnormal heart rhythms, sleep disruption, and mood disturbances. They recommend increasing exposure to sunlight in the morning and adjusting bedtimes gradually to acclimate to the time change.
In the meantime, enjoy an extra hour of rest!
“Yesterday’s hazards are still today’s vulnerabilities.” – National Safety Council

With a mission of “saving lives from the workplace to anyplace” the National Safety Council revealed preliminary 2025 OSHA safety data at its recent NSC Safety Congress & Expo – the world’s largest annual gathering of safety professionals.
Protecting workers continues to be a difficult task. According to the council, yesterday’s hazards are still today’s vulnerabilities. For the 15th consecutive year, “Fall protection – general requirements” remains OSHA’s most cited standard. The top ten list and numbers of cited violations:
1. Fall Protection – General Requirements (1926.501): 5,914 violations
2. Hazard Communication (1910.1200): 2,546
3. Ladders (1926.1053): 2,405
4. Lockout/Tagout (1910.147): 2,177
5. Respiratory Protection (1910.134): 1,953
6. Fall Protection – Training Requirements (1926.503): 1,907
7. Scaffolding (1926.451): 1,905
8. Powered Industrial Trucks (1910.178): 1,826
9. Personal Protective and Lifesaving Equipment – Eye and Face Protection (1926.102): 1,665
10. Machine Guarding (1910.212): 1,239
Did you know our group has an all-inclusive approach to safety – from the ground up, and the top down? Everyone contributes. Everyone participates. Our industry-recognized Working. Safe. program is informed by practices and habits honed in response to over 100 years of experience on the roof, actual job site situations, and the latest industry resources. Always evolving, always improving, always vigilant – because we recognize its importance.
Enhanced Section 179 expensing: a valuable tool for investments in roofing, HVAC
If you have been considering a roof replacement or upgrade it’s a very good time to invest in your building. With the passage of the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” commercial property owners can now take advantage of enhanced Section 179 tax benefits that make reroofing and HVAC projects significantly more affordable and financially strategic.
– Section 179 expensing cap increased from $1 million to $2.5 million
– deduct full cost of any improvements to nonresidential buildings for purchases made beginning after December 31, 2024
– phase-out threshold raised to $4 million and indexed for inflation, turning what once was a 39-year depreciation schedule into a one-year bottom-line tax benefit
Section 179 immediate expensing is one of the most effective economic tools available to building owners, transforming maintenance into ROI.
Anything out of Metal – Yes, we can make that: replacement metal components
Recreating small components like this make building repair and restoration projects possible.
Our metal shop fabricated these base plates for pipe supports as well as other required pieces to assist with a vocational high school greenhouse repair.
Our fabrication experts work closely with area institutions and industries to improve processes, safety, material handling, and access — and to make custom pieces like this that may be otherwise unavailable.

Anything out of Metal – Yes, we can make that: fume control ductwork
This ductwork is part of an industrial fume control system for a chemical manufacturing company.
Our team field-measured, fabricated, and installed this offset Y ductwork component for a precise fit.
Our metal fabrication experts work regularly with industries to improve processes, safety, material handling, and access.
